March marks yet another milestone for Ikwekwezi FM as the station is celebrating 35 years this month.

As part of the birthday month celebration the station has held several activations Daveyton, Eastlynn in Pretoria, Slotjhile  Shisanyama in Tembisa  and also in the Breeze in  Secunda.

Ikwekwezi FM  formerly known as Radio Ndebele is one the leading public broadcaster’s which has it strong footprint in Mpumalanga, Gauteng and Limpopo Provinces and boast over 1 million listeners.  The station has evolved which saw the station's launch of a new brand positioning that promises to deliver more music encaculating the rich isindebele colours.  

To celebrate this milestone Ikwekwezi FM  the station will continue to host be hosting roadshows, Sunday's soul session, and Mall activations.  On the 06 and 08th of April 2018 Ikwekwezi FM will be hosting a comedy show at Witbank City Hall and a Sunday Soul Session at Zithabiseni Resort respectively.

The event will feature all the music sorts with the likes of……. Vusi Nova, Ntando, Bekezela, Kelly Khumalo, J.A.B.U , Rvoonah, Mbuzana, Bussai, Nathi, Amon Mokoena, Ishmael Abrahams, Bongani Radebe, O47, Something Soweto, Onesimus, Zodwa Mabena and Nuevo.

On the 28th of April the station will put on the mother of all parties at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium, KwaMhlanga.  Loyal listeners will win tickets to the events that guarantees to be the biggest that KwaMhlanga has ever seen.

The main event will include music greats who include amongst others ………….. Something Soweto, OKMalumekoolkat, Lady Zamar, Team Mosha, Oscido, DoubleTrouble, Zanda, Dr Moruti, Amand Black, Pencil and Zingmaster DR Malinga.

The Acting station manager Juliet Skosana said Ikwekwezi FM  is a force to be reckoned in the radio broadcast industry and is here to stay.

“Being on air for 35 years is a major milestone and this supports the certainty that Ikwekwezi FM  has stood the test of time and has a strong listener support structure.  We cannot forget our veterans who inspired our presenters, producers and everyone to make sure that the station grows and leaps and bounds.

“There is lot of competition out there with the advent of community radio stations and it needs us to be dynamic and focused  in our work.  We continue to do that and what better way to celebrate with our loyal listeners.  Without listeners a station does not exist. We hope to go another 35 years.  We have a lot to offer our listeners, watch the space,” said Skosana.
