On Air Personality
Catch me during Saturdays on Fulela Wanethwa between 15h00- 18h00 and Sundays on Avulekile Amasango between 07h00-09h00
Born and bred in the province of the rising sun Mpumalanga at Emalahleni (formerly known as Witbank). After completing my matric at Allendale Secondary Private School at the age of 16, I studied B.Admin (Public Management) at the University of Pretoria where I measured with Political Science, Public Administration and Communications. Worked for the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality and later on joined Ikwekwezi fm in April 2005 where I was hosting a weekend Show on Saturday and Sunday morning respectively …barely a month being with the station I was appointed to a full-time late night week slot, presenting a show called “Sizigedlile” (21h00-24h00) which focused on financial, educational and governmental issues.
In 2007, I hosted a women magazine show which was titled “Asiqongelane” (09h00-12h00) where issues affecting women, ranging from health, fashion and role played by women in general were addressed. During that time I also served as the Mpumalanga Roads and Transport Ambassador where I dealt with road safety issues, a position I held for three years. It has been a rich journey indeed! I departed, left Ikwekwezi fm in March 2011 to venture into and pursue other activities.
The return baba…in April 2015 I re-joined the station and continued where I left off in 2011. I am currently hosting a weekend sports show called “Fulela Wanethwa” (15h00-18h00) and a religious show called “Amasango Avulekile” (07h00-09h00) on Sundays which is a show I have done in 2006. The show goes on…lapho sikhona kunokukhanya.
Radio is where my heart lies as many would say a passion, undoubtedly it is. I am an easy person, who doesn’t try very hard but who works really smart. I believe in trend setting that’s why I am calling myself “The Original One”. I don’t follow the crowds, I follow my instincts which in most cases don’t lie to me and research is my middle name. I explore all angles in bringing the best programme to my listeners. This is just the tip of an iceberg more is still to come, endless visions and the list goes on and on.
Since 2005, I have been doing voice overs for big giants like MTN, Vodacom, Parliament, Unilever, health products…you count them. I have also embarked on MC’ing services for various government departments and private companies to date…kukhonghotha ekhambako.
As a presenter I love all music genres, if the rhythm is good it will definitely get me dancing. I love life and am living it to the fullest, taking each day as it comes.
What I treasure the most in my life…is my melodic voice, thanking God for it. It does magic.
