IKWEKWEZI FM UNVEILS PROGRAMMING UPDATE AND AN EXCITING 2026/27 LINE-UP
Johannesburg-Monday, 30 March 2026 – Ikwekwezi FM introduces a fresh lineup of presenters with key changes to the drivetime shows. The new lineup seeks to align with the station’ strategy to inject more energy into the airwaves while maintaining the station’;s identity that saw the station named PBS (Public Broadcast Stations) Station of the Year at the 2025 Telkom Radio Awards. There is also an addition of some new voices that will add a fresh dimension to the Ndebele theatre of the mind.
The weekdays programme line up kicks off with Bongani “Mvelo” Mahlangu joining the breakfast show Sivukile Breakfast Show 06:00 – 09:00 to cohost with Busisiwe “Bussai” Mathebula and McDonald Mahlangu. The breakfast show also gains a new producer in Thulisile ‘Nelza’ Buda, Nelza is a seasoned producer who recently won the award for best content producer at the Basadi in Music Awards. She moves from the afternoon drive show to inject a burst of energy into your mornings. Bongani “Gusheshe” Mahlangu remains at the helm of the midmorning show Emthonjeni 09:00 – 12:00. The show will still be produced by Lettie Chilli.
The multi award winning presenter and winner of the best daytime show at the 2025 Telkom Radio Awards, Biziwe ‘King B’ Masango will continue to fly solo on Siditjhile from 12:00 – 15:00. Sibuya Nawe Express Lane follows to take you home with Dj R-Voonah and Joseph ‘Big Joe’ Mahlangu from 15:00 – 18:00. The show gains a new producer in Branco Nkambule who moves from producing the breakfast show to the afternoon drive show.
‘Thandymamakhe’ takes over the airwaves at 19:00 – 21:00 through the week on Hlala nami before handing over to the seasoned veteran Bongani ‘Bobo Da Beat’ Mthombothi who moves from cohosting the breakfast show to flying solo on his new show Ngakwethu from 21:00 -00:00 from Monday to Thursday. 21:00 – 00:00 on Fridays picks up the pace in preparations for the weekend with Dj Mpumi on Azitjhe.
Mandla ‘Mindloluv’ Mthombeni will jump behind the microphone to launch weekend programming from 03:00 – 06:00 every Saturday on the show Kusile. Right after current affairs ‘Mawaza’ takes the microphone to wake listeners up with the best of traditional music on Siyatjhagala. He hands the mic over to Nompumelelo ‘Dj Mpumi’ Skosana who presents the station’s top 20 count down titled Jika Majika from 09:00 – 12:00. Sibusiso ‘Kurnarha’ Rakgalakane takes over from 12:00 – 15:00 on the youthful vibrant show Tjhida Ngitjhudule. Radio veteran Mbuzana Nyathi and Bertha ‘Lady B’ Jiyane run the airwaves from 15:00 – 18:00 on Zitheziwe, which will be followed by Dj Mpumi who returns to continue where she left off the previous day on her show Ungasali from 18:00 – 21:00. She will hand over to Vusi ‘Mabizwasabela’ Sithole from 21:00 – 00:00 for his Saturday show Sizigedlile.
Sunday programming will start at 03:00 – 06:00 with Mandla ‘Mindloluv’ Mthombeni on Kusile. He will be swiftly followed by Joyce ‘JayDee’ Mahlangu on Avulekile Amasango 06:00 – 09:00. Dj Mpumi reclaims the microphone with her Sunday show NginoMelusi 09:00 – 12:00 before handing over to Jabu ‘J.A.B.U’ Mahlangu who retains his show and will continue to serenade listeners with soulful sounds on Ngezikhamba Nomoya. Mbuzana Nyathi takes will continue from 15:00 – 18:00 on Zitheziwe/Phola Hliziyo which will be followed by the show Sithini IsiNdebele hosted by Brancho Borholo. Weekend programming will be wrapped up by Mabizwasabela with another offering of Sizigedlile.
