IKWEKWEZI FM WINS BIG AT THE 2025 RADIO AWARDS
Johannesburg—Wednesday, 10 December 2025. Ikwekwezi FM is in high spirits since the 2025 Telkom Radio Awards that took place on Saturday, 6 December 2025, in Sandton. The Telkom Radio Awards honour and recognise exceptional and innovative excellence in the South African radio industry. It sets a benchmark for all radio stations and professionals to strive towards. The programme is dedicated to fairness and integrity and is focused on being a credible, well-judged, and transparent programme.
Ikwekwezi FM was nominated in nine categories this year and managed to walk away with three awards on the night. The biggest surprise was when the station was awarded the most prestigious award of Station of the Year in the PBS category. This means that Ikwekwezi FM stood shoulders above all PBS stations in the country. A highly contested space with many big radio stations that have historically won this category with ease. With the three awards, Ikwekwezi FM is among the biggest winners of all SABC Radio stations. SABC radio stations won a combined 27 awards.
